Hell, a lot of them were ruins before the first settlers arrived in the Americas!
@mancavgeek LOL fact! Google says Chepstow Castle in Monmouthshire, Wales, is widely recognised as the oldest surviving post-Roman stone castle in the UK, with construction starting in 1067.
