Jamez Barrett 🜃 ॐ ⒶIn a post on X, Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf described the US F-35 as a symbol of invincibility and arrogance of the US military, "an almost theological icon said to be unseen by any eye and superior to any power," Ghalibaf wrote.
"This symbol was struck for the first time in the world," the Parliament Speaker wrote, referring to the IRGC's Thursday announcement of hitting an F-35 Lightning II fighter jet in the skies over central Iran.
The IRGC posted a video showing how the fighter jet was tracked and hit by the Iranian armed forces.
This is indeed unprecedented, as Lockheed Martin's fifth-generation fighter jet has not been hit before and was only involved in non-combat accidents.
