During COVID I rediscovered music trackers thanks to a Polish electronic instrument maker creating the Polyend Tracker. Back in the day I started making music on the Fast Tracker 2. This device felt like magic. After almost 2 decades I started making music again.

Polytracker is collecting dust now, because it was outdone by the convenience and size of the Dirtywave M8, but it continues to have a place in my heart.

What am I? | Jakub Steiner

@jimmac I grew up with stars in my eyes (and my ears) watching demomaking and listening to chiptunes and tracks made by very talented people.

I always wanted to learn a tracker like FT II or Impulse tracker (or, more recently, Milky tracker), but never found the time and never really understood the concepts (even though, today, I understand English music notation and much more musical concepts than 25 years ago).

I guess in my next life... :)

@pieq I feel the same about classic music theory :)
