☕️Having peeked inside US public administration, I feel qualified to call it a total mess. Running a state /is/ difficult when the only person reliably in charge of anything is the lovely lady at the local library.
So much of the #SafeACT seems like a total no-brainer from a Europa perspective.
Yet, one way or another, one has to admit it was obviously good enough to run that republic for 250 years—so there must (!) be room for a ten-year grace period, to give people time to get papers in order.

So that is where the criticism should be pointed at, imho.

On the other hand again: once trotten down and exploited thoroughly enough, you can bet you’ll end up with a marginalized working class unable to find time to update their public records unless you grant them a few paid public holidays to do just that, … which seems nowhere in their future.

So: it more and more seems like a mess not by accident, but by design.

@AwetTesfaiesus When a country is a continent, just let whoever happens to be there vote. No need for papers.
@KarlHeinzHasliP Australia ?
@AwetTesfaiesus well that was me being moderate and talking about Turtle Island. In all honesty, just let whoever happens to be there vote everywhere. Bin aber ja auch antinationalist mit transhumanistischer Ambition.
@AwetTesfaiesus (yes, and) people not having the time to update their documents is just one little fringe benefit of the economy being this exploitive mess it is (for the people in power). Imagine more people had time to reflect about their circumstances and to organized resistance, instead of having to work multiple jobs to make ends meet...
@punissuer that’s a different story, but yes, that’s also right
