@jcolag Just wanted to let you know that I'm still keeping up with these every week, and I'm glad you're going through DS9, both because I like it a lot and because I think it could stand a lot more criticism about things it gets a pass on (like militarism, sexism, and racism).
Oh, and count me as someone who's never thought Keiko and Miles had a good relationship.
@ertchin Thank you! I hesitated on going through DS9, because (like the original series) it tries to make the bad actions feel uncomfortable, but like you point out, a lot of people apparently didn't catch that.
And yeah, that relationship reminds me of 1960s comics, with the girlfriend/wife seemingly modeled on the parent of an adolescent, so that the man gets to complain about "nagging" for things like an expectation of calling home...
