Arthur Clarke was one of science fiction's "Big Three" with Heinlein and Asimov. He co-wrote 2001: A Space Odyssey with Kubrick, and his novels Rendezvous with Rama and The Fountains of Paradise each won both Hugo and Nebula Awards. Named SFWA Grand Master in 1985 and knighted in 2000.
