I can't believe I just read the "innocent until proven guilty" argument regarding César Chávez.

He's dead, he's not going to be persecuted and proven guilty anyway!

The same person wrote about how it's just about the "word of a 96 years old woman" (There are multiple accusations and why would the word of an old woman be less important because of her age?)

And then they had the audacity to ask "Are there witnesses?"

Yes. Yes there are. The women who came forward are the witnesses.

"Himpathy" was coined by Kate Manne some years back, one of these cases where someone comes up with a brilliant word to describe a phenomenon that has been around forever!
