@lety Having seen a lot of road signs on people's walls in my lifetime, my guess would be that that is an attempt to make them harder to steal.

@lety If they don't look like they came from the mid-1900s, yeah...

I've talked to at least two people in my lifetime who knew the ropes for making off with a stop sign and not getting caught.
