Photo of the Day 18th March 2026.

A replica of the Avro Avroplane, an experimental tri-plane built and flown by Alliott Verdon-Roe, later founder of Avro.
This was on display in the Aero-Space Hall of the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester, but was moved to the Avro Museum on the site of the old Avro factory and airfield in Woodford when that part of MOSI closed.

@mancavgeek I'll always recognize this. 🤩 It was my first ever flight back in the day! And I made my parents buy the model of that type from the onboard shop! ✈️
And I learned the saying: "Wer den Tod nicht scheut, fliegt mit AeroLloyd!" 😅 (It rhymes!)
