They never did much with the plot going forward(warp damaging subspace). I /think/ it might've shown up in VOY for an episode, but I may be mistaken. Slowing down is a real buzz kill for an exploration show.
@lxskllr @MirrorAyako @startrek I really dislike #ForceOfNature. I appreciate the attempt at an allegory about environmentalism, but I think it’s poorly executed.
TNG’s The Pegasus may be the only other episode that references the warp speed limit (Picard receives permission to exceed the speed limit for the mission)
I don’t think it’s ever mentioned on screen, but, supposedly Voyager’s moving nacelles are supposed to mitigate the warp drive damage to subspace issue

You're right! I forgot about the reason the nacelles moved. I looked it up less than a year ago, cause I was thinking a moving nacelle was kinds weird.
Didn't Voyager have to restrict speed through someone's airspace? I might be remembering wrong. If they did, they obviously worked around it, but I dunno.
Gonna get back into Trek soon. I'm thinking TNG, then working through them all. I guess I'll find out this year :^D
@lxskllr @MirrorAyako @startrek I don’t recall Voyager having to restrict their speed through anyone’s space, but it’s very possible that I just forgot.
I vaguely remember the episode where Paris had to pass a “driving test” of some sort on the Delta Flyer because some aliens decided he was too wreckless 😆

Then about gave the instructor a heart attack when he tore off on an emergency :^D
