Raseef 22: #Israel killed veteran journalist and Al-Manar TV programs director Mohammad #Sherri along with his wife in an airstrike that targeted their home in the Zuqaq al-Blat neighborhood of the Lebanese capital, Beirut.

The Israeli strike also injured several members of the Sherri family, including his children and grandchildren, who were rushed to hospitals for treatment.

In a statement, Al-Manar TV mourned its veteran anchor as “a martyr of the free word,” noting that Sherri “concluded decades of his professional journey as a committed media figure, journalist, resistance figure, a revolutionary patriot, a national figure in struggle, and a purposeful human being who believed in the power of the word to defend truth, no matter the cost.”

The statement added that the slain journalist had been recovering from surgery when he was targeted in his home along with his wife.

Lebanon’s Information Minister Paul Morcos also denounced the Israeli strike that killed Al-Manar broadcaster, condemning “the martyrdom of journalist Mohammad Sherri and his wife.”

The Lebanese Minister stressed on the platform X that “the targeting of journalists constitutes a flagrant violation of international law and an attack on press freedom.”/3
