@nanowiz @wdlindsy This deeply saddens me because I looking in from canada feel the exact same way.
I despise America the version of the nation that it has become.
It starts wars.
It kills visitors.
It jails its citizens.
It ignores the healthcare crisis in that country.
It banks money off of peoples suffering.
It gaslights voters.
It's the only country in the world where buying a weapon is cheaper than an ambulance ride or a doctor's visit.
It doesn't have any decent judges looking after the broken system that is there.
It got founded off of revolution instead of diplomacy back in an era where if you didn't use it, you got excommunicated from all of society anywhere in the west.
That entire culture of bandits and outlaws has become a total cesspool of degenerate, and illiterate people.
the things I like about America, have nothing to do with its government. It has to do with the people who don't let their government stop them from living their lives.
Until and unless this changes, it's the only thing besides the land they stole from the British that in turn stole it from the natives which makes any sense to me.
I'm not a fan of them either, I don't believe in colonial rule. But imperial rule is just as bad as dictatorial rule which exists in Russia that they're now thinking couldn't be better who supports Iran but they support Israel now.
So what this comes down to, is either fighting over what holy god wins the day. Or just acting like total terrorists because they can.
The people on the other hand, can't step outside their front door without being accosted by fear of the unknown.
Thank god we don't experience that to this degree here. Although I will admit I am not a fan of too much unassimulated imigration to the point where you can't communicate at all, or people feel embouldened not to obey or listen to the basic civil authority to stop violence domestic or otherwise.
But beyond that, there's no reason why we can't get along. the American government wants there to be as many reasons as there are stars in the sky why they don't want to even try to put in any effort at all.
I really don't think anyone voted for that.
All the conservatives I talk to, just wanted their own country to get better and have cheaper goods and services for their everyday lives to be more fruitful.
All of the democrats I talk to, just want nothing to do with conservatives at all, thinking their entire culture is poison. But beyond that, I think, also want the same thing but they didn't see anything wrong with who was already trying to get that accomplished.
So the end game was someone who could keep the legacy of great achievements alive and well. None of us see that with who is in office now.
Here in Canada, it doesn't matter what party you vote for, it matters who you elect into office because you can cross the floor if you don't like a given party at any time. And I'm coming around to it, because I think being forced to stand by your conviction only works, if you are put first to do so.
People change, and they should be allowed to, within civil limits. That's what democracy is all about.
Sometimes you come across cultures that don't think they are able to be held accountable for anything, and so it begs the question. Who's right when, and why? And if so, who's wrong, when and why? And if so, can that person be capable of being both right and wrong...why or why not?
We know that Donald Trump won't even bother figuring this out. And that's why America is despised. I'm convinced more and more, that unless you have someone educated in office, young enough to remember their historical and theoretical essays on such subjects. We will see more of, whatever this is come to pass. And it's the reason why actual Kings and Queens never went without because their royal family ensured it, sometimes to a fault.
