A person who stumbles into great wealth & power will inevitably develop an elaborate worldview that tells them: a) yes, you & people like you deserve the wealth & power, & b) no, you shouldn't feel bad about it. There is nothing more boring on earth than them sharing the details of said worldview.

That was my very first thought when I heard about Andreessen's manifesto: "I'm bored already, just skip to the part where you tell me that you and people like you should be in charge." And sure enough!
If you were a real cynic, you could argue that *most* religions, philosophies, and systems of thought from the past were basically designed for this purpose: to justify the position of the dominant demographic. The Great God Ra, the divine right of kings, "meritocracy" ... all the same thing.

@volts.wtf

Well expressed.

"real cynic", "most"?

I'm just a "regular person" and I'd say it's *all*, for religion, at least.
