Rob@daringfireball I think claiming that MacBook Neo repair-ability is a side effect of its assembly process is incorrect. I think the ease of fixing is very much on purpose because I think Apple is prepping to go after that sent state sponsored school Chromebook money.

@gruber For the same space and weight reasons they have always claimed. I think they could have made it for the same price with all the glue and such they normally use. Maybe it would have even been lighter. Those processes as very efficient after all. So maybe there’s a better reason to make it repairable. At $450 or whatever for the 2 year old model they could put one in the hands of many of America’s Elementry school kids. Bought and paid for by school districts and state programs.
