Jamie Raskin, Ranking Member of the House Judiciary Committee, and U.S. Senate Democratic Whip Dick Durbin, Ranking Member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, referred embattled Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem to the Department of Justice (DOJ) for investigation into potential perjury charges and for knowingly making false statements under oath following her appearances before the Committees on March 3 and 4, 2026.

@z_everson Sadly this will probably go nowhere since it's Dems making the request to a GQP/MAGA DOJ.

The announcement headline is purposely misleading / clickbaity as it suggests that the committee chairs (both of whom are GQP members) also are making the referral, which they're not.
