I’ve split this summary across three posts, and this roundup details the first five days. Highlights included lots of sumo, a studio session, and getting to know Ryōgoku.
Days 6 to 10 brought several trip highlights, including an outstanding café, trippy outdoor bathing in Karuizawa, and a perfect few hours at Sakamoto Library.
And finally, here’s part three. My sincere thanks for the kind comments (online and in person) about this little series; it’s much appreciated. https://colly.com/journal/return-to-tokyo-part-3
Return to Tokyo, Part 3
Days 11 to 15. We celebrated a retirement, caught beans for good fortune, and spent three Perfect Days ticking off favourite places and stores.
@scottboms Ah, wonderful — gonna be hot in June. Ping me anytime if you want specific recs or tips. If I don't know something, Geri probably will. (And thanks for reading.) BTW, Geri's tip for you, but I'm sure you know them: https://www.handsawpresstokyo.com
@colly I *just* finished reading these over in my auld RSS reader, and then hopped onto mastodon to see this thread at the top of my feed. What a tremendous trip, Simon — thanks for sharing so many wonderful moments (and photos) with us.
@beep I appreciate you still reading my waffle, and for extending this little thank you. Thanks also for the RSS loyalty — twas handy to use my feed to semi-privately share more about that library experience.
