Well, *this* is certainly a new low.

This is on a TV. In a *hotel*.

Good grief.

@rl_dane

When I went to Puerto Rico, the hotel had a smart TV in the room. I don't understand why someone would want this while on vacation.

Please, never attach your account to a device you do not control.

Definitely. I know they log you out of everything automatically when you check out, but I'm still not logging into YT. I even use guest mode *at home*. 😄
P.S., if you have a Roku TV, look up the "Playlet" app. It's Invidious! For Roku!!! 😂👌🏼

@rl_dane @rl_dane No way to watch as guest?

I’ve been to some that have Netflix and claim they sign you out upon check-out…my entire response was just “yeah right” and I ventured straight for the regular cable TV.

@roguefoam @rl_dane

There's a guest mode, which I'm using. It let's you browse and search, but you can't actually view anything without logging in.

And I get it, that hotel has a lot of users behind one NATted IP, probably.

But it's a forking TEE VEE!!! 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

@rl_dane @rl_dane I was about to say they should be able to recognize it’s a hotel TV and whitelist the IP range but then immediately realize “oh someone will catch on and do something bad with that”…

Yeah guest mode being just search makes it pointless to have in the first place. Bad setup all around lol
