I’m most scared that on the US side this is driven by End Times Christian nut jobs in the administration who won’t let this end until they get their “final battle.”
Pete Kirkham@futurebird it's a bit archaic, but 'excursion' does also have the meaning of 'a raid into foreign territory without a formal declaration of war'. It's entirely possible a member of staff used the term in that meaning and he's picked it up.
