@BlueDot In general terms, no. I'd hope we would be a safe space for everyone. However the bar for what constitutes bigotry can be subjective. We'll reserve the right to make those judgments weighed against avoidance of censorship.

@BlueDot This feels like you're trying to bully me into some sort of generalized statement. We'll handle all moderation decisions on a case by case basis. Your screen shot did not give me anything specific to go on. Your tone also seems to be increasingly adversarial, sorry if I'm misjudging that. I'd prefer to disengage.

This is not bullying. You're correct, though, I was hoping for a generalized statement, such as, transphobia is categorically not allowed on this instance. The way it's categorically not allowed on my instance. And every other instance that has committed to the Mastodon Server Covenant. https://joinmastodon.org/covenant

@BlueDot @mike Not sure how highly you regard server rules/code of conduct in your decisions but their Code of Conduct 2.3. seems to ban any kind of discrimatory statements. (Granted I've seen people widely vary on what they see as "discriminating" :S)

@zaire @BlueDot I already outlined my position and felt as though I was being manipulated. Hate speech has a very wide subjective definition. I asked for details on what the respondent thought defined hate speech and got none. We of course will not tolerate discrimatory or hate speech but we will be the arbiters of what constitutes that definition on platforms we manage. I also have the right to politely disengage as I please.

@mike This sounds like good news! My server (disabled.social) has blocked both of those domains in the past due to issues with their moderation policies.

I hope that my server admin will unblock both of these servers now that the administration has changed! 😁

I plan to ask them but it may take me a while...
