There's always some discussion about the meaning of "social ride" and "social pace" on events. Without any additional information given on an event, except that it's on "classical bike paths and gravel with flat terrain", and is "social pace", what average speed would you expect?

@odoruhako the problem is you don’t know what to expect if you haven’t been with the group before.

I’ve been to group rides that were advertised exactly the same, and one was at 15kph and the other was 25kph.

@odoruhako much below 16 I find some of my bikes harder to control. So if we are doing 16 on the flat we are going to be dangerously slow up hills. Which might be okay if there are no hills in your area, but do you really?
