So you did see some alien spacecraft!
And we have #portishead
@ryan @sundogplanets Just a long exposure is enough, with the result like this: https://eugene-andrienko.com/assets/static/aurora4.jpg
With just a hooman eye, not affected by light sources at near half an hour, the aurora can be seen like this: https://eugene-andrienko.com/assets/static/ladoga3.jpg
At least on my 60º of north latitude
@sundogplanets thank you so much for the awesome picture, and the explanation.
Last time we had these lights visible in Switzerland I was very disappointed to see all those nice pictures, but nothing with my eyes.
It took me some time to realize cameras are more sensitive than our eyes, with a loooong exposure.
Wowee! Zowee! Did you hear any alien spacecraft or anything like that?
What a beautiful, unearthly display!
Sky from Birmingham was exceptionally clear tonight (well, for Birmingham, it was). Could see all of Orion's stars.
No one wants to tell Sam it's just Lachlan's new LED grow lights.
