ZeroSSL - Please add IPv6 support and a DNS-PERSIST-01 validation method. #ZeroSSL #IPv6 #SSL #TLS #certificates #networking

This response to my request is clearly non-confidential, so I’m going to share it:

Hi - thanks for reaching out. We are working on expanding the support for IPv6, including certificates for IPv6 addresses as well as for validation. Unfortunately - this is not something we can do right now or in the near future but it is on our roadmap.

@sl it was broken a long time ago. they wont fix it.

use the IP 2a0e:ac00:c7:d450::5bc7:d450 it still works.

@miyuru The DNS-PERSIST-01 validation method support would fix the issue as well, if the IPv6 is too complex and hard for their engineering team.
And the mapping is RFC 6052 compatible, so one way to use it is a dns64 directive in a BIND configuration.
