We're finally getting some of that Kona storm that's been messing up the other islands. It is extremely windy and rainy.

With storms from the Kona direction, we're sometimes spared the worst of it because we are behind Mauna loa. It becomes the opposite of the normal rain shadow effect. So the last couple days when everyone else was getting it, we mostly just had clouds. But starting last night, it really started to go hard here. And it seems like we're right in the middle of it now.

As for where we are, you see the big red/yellow splotch in the center? I'm right around the right tip of that splotch. Here's the full radar: https://radar.weather.gov/station/phwa/standard

@mk30 good luck with dodging everything bad
@CJPaloma thx, trying! 😊

@mk30 it’s finally quiet (and sunny) for me here on Oahu. Seems like we were also spared the worst of it on the windward side - thank you Ko’olau 🙏

There were a lot of warnings about a possible dam failure up north, by Haleiwa, but it made it through the night

@chad hooray! We had a little break, but we're back in it now. Feeling like a wet chicken over here!
