Seeing if Philips UK will honour their 2 year warranty. Bet they will weasel out of it.

TL;DR avoid Hue bulbs, especially BLE Wifi/Zigbee White Ambience and Color model ACA0008?

1 1/2 years of random disconnects & sometimes not being seen even by their app! Suspect it needs the expensive hub.

They lie in marketing - many cases 'for compatibility' it needs the hub, but I don't want to buy a hub for ONE light?

Oddly the WiZ lights are also Signify and work great...as do the WiZ non-Signify ones. A bugger to pair sometimes but they stay paired.

Unlike the Hue - it seems if it's connected to a Zigbee network - as touted on the packet as being compatible but also connected to Alexa it often refuses to work on one or the other.

But the random disconnections happened before I started trying to use it with Zigbee via Home Assistant. It flatly refuses to work with Zigbee2MQTT and connect to HA via Bluetooth giving odd connection errors.

So I have replaced it with a Lepro light that is fraction of the cost - 15,000 hours rather than 25,000, not as nice build and can't do fading in or out...but it does colour changing and it works with both HA and Alexa and it's own app, BT and WIfi control, no problems so far.

Crazy that a 1500lm, £16 light, or my Signify Wiz E27 1500lm bulb around the same price - piss all over a premium £50-70 product for stability and reliability?

Never had the same level of drama from the other bulbs (Wiz, Tapo) like the Hue, it's a total diva.

It's a shame though - Signify WiZ DO make a 1500lm bayonet bulb, but I can't get it anywhere...out of stock, even contacted WiZ, no availability.

Also really hard to contact Philips Hue for support, whereas Signify WiZ has a standard email address? Cheaper option has better and quicker support - form for Hue sniffs that it's for business customers. What gives?

TL;DR - Signify WiZ is cheaper and better than Hue. Avoid Hue, overpriced and seemingly less support?

P.S. When I say Signify Wiz it's usually marketed as WiZ Pro if you can get those, or just WiZ but says 'made by Signify'.

Some other companies make WiZ compatible lights, they are OK but not as good, don't have the 'Spacesense' or other features.
