Nothing I like better than spending my Saturday sitting on hold with #metronet to report (yet another) service outage with our (increasingly unreliable) fiber connectivity.

"Some customers in your area are experiencing disruption. We are working on it. You do not need to stay on the line." - is actually a major improvement from them. It's still pretty low tier service, but I'll acknowledge the attempt at improving.

Now, let's see how long this takes.

Apparently #metronet has a presence on bluesky.

Oh,,,

Has our #metronet fiber connectivity been restored? No.

Are we going to spend another weekend without an internet connection? Signs (and prior experiences) point to yes

We're well into hour 2 of tech support chat. It's far preferable to having to sit on a phone call listening to horrid Muzak during each lull, but it's also glacially slow

Is is correct to call them a "provider" when there's so much disruption of service?

The #metronet farce continues

@Cornellbox literal LOL over here. Dang and I had been jealous of people who had #Metronet fiber!

Now I want #123Net to come to my neighborhood. We paid a lot to get them to run fiber to @workantile and it was worth it, their uptime has been strong and customer service has been excellent.

@samfirke @workantile
#metronet used to be awesome. I was -elated- when we moved to Ypsi and could get it at our house. But they've declined significantly in the last couple years.

I still don't forgive ATT for their NSA follies, and I still find Comcast even lower in the barrel, so I don't have a workable alternative. I'm unlikely to switch, until a better alternative arises. But I'm not going to boost them like I once did, and if public criticism works, I'll continue doing that too.

@Cornellbox and yet I can't get them a presence down Page Ave

A variant on the "little old ladies" problem:

LOL 1: The food there is terrible. Nothing is cooked right. Everything tastes awful.

LOL 2: And such small portions!
