I think this will be a keyboard tinkering weekend. I need to (want to) change the switches on my ~ 10 year old splitkb Kyria rev1.3 to newer more silent ones. And while it's dissasembeled try to clean it from ~10 years worth of gunk.
Here we go one done, one to go. Hopefully I didn't butcher the solderpads to badly. I sort of need this keyboard. #kyria #splitkb #mechanicalkeyboard
Done with the second half. Here's my soldering setup before removing the switches that has fallen out. Now for cleaning everything and then assemble again with new switches! Riiight after the dishwasher is done cleaning the plastic parts. #kyria #splitkb #mechanicalkeyboard

Didn't post the result so here's a picture from drying and end result with new switches (everything works). It's suuuuper clean! Definitly needed. Also I removed the rotary encoders as I've noticed I have more need for two aditional buttons. Love the new switches much quieter and the feel isn't bad either.

I'm thinking of having a numpad on left pad while holding down the new fn button on the right one, would be kind of awesome I think.

@aanee
Were they direct sold to the PCB?
