I don't often do mono photography - but egrets and the sort of rainy day that obliterates most colour lend themselves well to it. Curious whether you lovely people like it or not - comments welcome! #birds #birdphotography #blackandwhite #monochromemarch

@tessa_murray amazing! It takes great skill to combine wildlife photography with such clean and balanced composition! Well done!
@zompetto I wish I could do it in camera - but I always have to resort to cropping to get composition - bloody birds just won't stay still long enough for me to gather my thoughts (and this one was also taken off a gently rocking boat in the rain)
@tessa_murray cropping is part of the game... and the vision :)
@tessa_murray I really like how you've captured the egret's movement across the frame and the position of its feet like it's bicycling through the air, while getting it's eyes and beak in nice sharp focus looking at something out of frame. A gorgeous shot!
@[email protected] I like this photo! Sometimes mono helps tell a story where inclusion of any colour would be distracting.
@tessa_murray love it. Like a cross between a leaping tent and Mt. Fuji.

@tessa_murray

I like.
Being colour deficient I might prefer a wee bit more contrast for the feathers.

@labbatt50 thanks for the feedback - I totally agree and will go and see whether I can do a bit in post processing. Ta.
@tessa_murray I absolutely love it! I think the elegance of the movement and the beautiful pose captured in that instant is enhanced with with the monochrome choice.
