Huh, so it did actually snow then. March snow! What a concept! It's only sticking to cars and fences and trees not sidewalks or roads, so I'm guessing it's not too icy out and it will be gone by noon. But huh. This winter has been so warm, it seems strange to see such a thing.

A little chilly out, but still good 👍

Oh haha, maybe not gone by noon then 😬

This dingdong did not spend the night in the cat house like I told her to!!! Still showed up for food though.

Sent the kid off to catch the bus to school. Never have I felt more justified in my past insistence that everyone has good wool socks and a winter layer "just in case" 👍

9am update: way more snow than I expected 👀 and KEXP's signal is having real problems, my radio can't pick it up at all :(

Noon check in: big huge flakes, 33°F, and no sign of stopping.

Everyone in this city is like "it will stop any minute now! Any... minute... now." But it's forecast now until at least 7pm, so that Any Minute Now is a while away yet.

@paparatti I know if it sticks on the sidewalk it will go from "melt" through "slush" to "iced on" EXTREMELY DAMN QUICKLY

as the only person on my block who reliably shovels I try to keep an eye on it

I could salt, but the fishies

@paparatti In Greenwood, we're at "the snow turned into rain" at midday (or what passes for midday during DST).
@jmeowmeow microclimates in action!
@paparatti v much! "the convergence zone" gets blamed for a lot but I suspect this is mostly marine influence
@paparatti and then a little snow mixed with rain, as it is on the threshold of springtime
