My partner had a puncture on his bike last night about 30 min cycle away, fixed it in moderate rain but it still wouldn't pump with air, by which time it was torrential rain. He'd rung me for a lift home already when a guy in a van stopped and asked if he'd like a lift somewhere drier, he turned it down, the guy was travelling in the wrong direction. Five mins later the guy turns up again and says, come on, get in. He was going to drop him somewhere more sheltered, but in the end dropped him all the way home, 15 min drive in the wrong direction!
