As written earlier today, I went for the "slow" & cheap local/rapid trains to travel Nagoya - Osaka.
Roughly 200 km by car.
It took me 2 h 43 min. and 3 trains for 3.410 Yen (€18,57).

Fastest: Shinkansen in 49 min. for 6.680 Yen.
Car: 2h 10 min. up to 3h 10 min. with tolls of 4.550 - 5.070 Yen.

This picture is taken around Maibara in middle if the journey. No train in Austria in the countryside at 11 on a weeksday would ever be that crowded & this is a 12 car train!
