Another #cellbroadcast test that went smoothly on #phosh (and the receive wasn't even aware that this one was scheduled🙃):

#LinuxMobile

@phosh

Wouldn't work for me, though, because I use my #Mobian #pinePhone without #SIM for #privacy reasons 😉

#locationTracking #tracking

@debacle @phosh Emergency Alerts (https://linuxphoneapps.org/apps/io.github.leolost2605.emergency-alerts/) should still work for you, as long as you have some means to access the internet.

Nice!

However, I already get the German #NINA warnings via #Jabber/#XMPP, when I'm connected.

How does it work?

Open a chat with xmpp:[email protected] and type "help".

Or e.g. "register 52.5, 13.4" for #Berlin.

You can register and unregister multiple places.

@phosh

I love it. I really am hoping that my next phone can be a Linux one.

@koen @phosh I'm very happy with a 50 € used Pixel3a...

@phosh Nice!

this alert woke me up in a worry this morning, LOL.

@phosh one step closer to parity with Android and iOS!
@phosh Awesome! Now the only way my linux phone can kill me is if it fell on my head, like a proper good computer.

@phosh huh, I thought I didn't get it because maybe support is not in the latest stable release, but I just found this page in the settings saying my phone's modem can't do it (?)

(exceptionally missing alt text because of a bug in Tuba; will add later)

@allpurposemat @phosh yeah it depends on a currently non-stable release of ModemManager. but when that is released, it should work OOTB
@fossdd @phosh awesome, looking forward to it :D
@phosh same here on l5 mobian forky. very happy! #phosh is awesome! and improves every day
