i wrote an entire chapbook published
dedicated to an ex,
truth be told, i'd like to make another
for you

i don't know who you are
yet, but you write poetry
in another country, but
the distance is longing

& i'm a recent break-up
soft, getting long in the tooth
mending a healed wound.

stay up scrolling thru #spilled ink,
maybe love really is that simple.
