Have you heard of the SoCraTes events? These are software crafting open space events that happen across the world, in beautiful surroundings and with lovely people. They are my absolute favourite software events, and that’s speaking as someone who attends 10-20 events each year! So if you’re making plans for 2026 yet, now’s the time to brighten up your February and give yourself something to look forward to...

...because tickets are on sale for SoCraTes UK 2026! https://socratesuk.org/tickets.html

SoCraTes UK - Tickets

We're meeting 18th to 21st June at our lovely countryside venue, @milton Hill House in Oxfordshire, and I’m very proud to be helping make it happen. We're also delighted to announce the training day is back 👩🏻‍🏫on the Thursday, followed by the legendary open space event from Friday to Sunday, with organic sessions conceived during the event by all participants.

For the training day, we've confirmed the following eight legendary trainers:

* @emilybache - Controlling legacy code with approval tests
* @lisihocke - Secure development lifecycle
* @ruby_gem - topic tbc
* @claresudbery - Using TDD to get better results from LLMs/AI
* Jon Jagger - TDD with Cyber-dojo
* Duncan McGregor & @natpryce - Extreme refactoring
* Tim Ottinger - Value stream mapping (@tottinge)

SoCraTes UK - Training Day

Tickets are first-come, first-served, so book yours before we sell out!

Can you help? We’re a not-for-profit community open space event (and we’re very cute - just sayin’) so we need all the help we can get with ticket sales and sponsorship. Share this post with your networks, and ask your employer / contacts about sponsorship or buying tickets as brilliant training opportunities for employees.

We organise in the open, and you're very welcome to chat with the organisers to help, ask questions, give feedback, or simply to watch. You can reach us on the #ev_socratesuk slack channel (https://slack.softwarecrafters.org/), or on mastodon, LinkedIn, BlueSky, or by emailing organisers at socratesuk dot org.
