Are any of you Aussies noticing weird patterns in your auspost mail delivery? We thought delivery is meant to be every day but at home and work I’m noticing there’ll be no mail for days (maybe a couple of weeks at home) then multiple letters from different places get delivered together.
AusPost to halve the days it delivers letters from Monday

An overhaul of Australia's postal service begins next week, as Australia Post shifts to only deliver ordinary letters every second business day, and with slower delivery time frames.

@philbetts @joannaholman Yep, that.

PO Box gets the mail as always, road side box three days a week.

@joannaholman
i thought i read somewhere that aus post were no longer going to deliver daily — our regular postie responded by getting a new job, cos she needed to work full time

parcels are delivered by van, letters by bike,

but, the letter service has been rubbish for about 3 years now, which is why none of us old farts who liked to post stuff bother any more.

delivery is very unreliable

electoral commission sent me an email asking if i wanted to register to vote by mail, and i haven’t cos i value my vote too much

#AusPost

@maudenificent interesting. For personal purposes I don’t do much by mail anymore but unfortunately for work we have stuff where people mailing back signed print docs is unavoidable and we’re wondering how long docs we need back promptly are lurking somewhere in the postal system
@joannaholman
I haven't worked out on which days delivery occurs, but during the pandemic, due to the increase in parcels, they applied for and got approval to deliver, as I recall, "every other day", which on a five-day week, I dint know what that really means.
