Newsflash Americans: they're gonna make everything illegal. Every form of protest. Every way of fighting back. They're going to go for all of it. They've already gotten most of it. We already have way less options (legally) than we did during the Civil Rights era, and they made all those methods illegal specifically because they worked. You need to stop equating the law with your own personal sense of morality if you want to get anything done.

You do not have rights under a fascist regime. You do not have rights now. Stop pretending that you do and start doing something about it.

A law on the books isn't protection if it isn't enforced. The Constitution that you idolize is worthless when it is not enforced. It is not currently enforced, therefore it is worthless. It doesn't matter what rights you think you have if you get shot for trying to exercise them. Get that through your thick fucking skulls already. Before the government puts something else through them instead.

@starry_dreamer There's a possible positive outcome to this: breaking the concept of legitimacy that holds people back. If familiar forms of political protest are illegal, that might make people question whether they should take up forms of political action that were made illegal a long time ago.
@starry_dreamer Just as an example, sit down strikes, like those critical in the early history of automobile factory worker unions. A lot of effective and non-violent tactics, that most of us would see as perfectly ethical, are illegal.
@foolishowl *gestures at your post* EXACTLY WHAT I'M SAYING
