I am down the rabbit hole of researching tents, and stumbled upon this hilarious piece in Naturehike's material for their #Bikepacking tent.

Yep, that's a proper 90's MTB advertising a tent in 2026 :)

#Naturehike #Camping #Cycling

@mrc not sure it's a genuine lefty fork though ;)
@Pionir Hahahaha I totally missed that detail.
@mrc those cycling shoes look a little unusual as well
@mrc that said, I use that tent for my bikepacking, and it’s absolutely good value for the price.

@mrc asymmetric brake lever placement is obviously big in 2026

That's funny. I have an older Tarptent Moment DW, a Durston X-Mid 2 and Durston X-Dome 1+. Let me know if you want any feedback on them. I could get ride of the first two and only use the X-Dome 1+. I went for the short carbon poles mesh inner. I also sometimes do just tarp, or just bivvy, both are from Borah Gear. I'm in USA.

@Morgan Thanks for the tips, but I'm done with tarp and single-layer tents. Too many incidents due to massive condensation.

If niche US brands were not a pain in the ass to ship in the EU, I'd probably buy a Big Sky Soul btw.

Durston is Canadian. Maybe still a PITA. Dual wall.
@mrc Haha, good one! But the NatureHike tent is good, bought one in China, used it in France and will use it in the coming 5 months.
The bike might be retro, but their tents are legit. I own two for a total cost of $150 and couldn't be happier. Yes, there are niggles but nothing that doesn't keep my dry and happy.
@MountainVisions Yep, I ended up ordering a Cloud Up, the only competitor in this price and availability is Decathlon’s Simond MT900 (also ordered, will compare the two).
