Deep dive into Wikipedia.

The #LouvrePyramid was built to update the #museum. Part of the reason for the update was to add a big area with many entries and exits, to and from different parts of the museum. This area is underground.

#Mitterrand initiated the project and succeeded, in part because he actually had the power to do it, even against resistance.

A #mockup of the #pyramid was built before the project really began.

Another part of the update was to relocate a ministry. Not popular.

Some of the resistance against a pyramid was related to pyramids being symbols of death.

There's a big pyramid and 3 small ones. Inside the building there's also an upside down pyramid.

The architect was (is?) Chinese-American.

@LiseAndreasen @georgiamuseum I am one of the many people who do not like the pyramid. I don't understand why they couldn't have built a less absurd structure as the main entrance to such a historic building.🤷🏼‍♀️
@mlanger @georgiamuseum
1) Why do you find it absurd?
2) Louvre is historic and the pyramid is not?
