welp I ordered that skmei watch

Welp #Skmei watch came in. For $20 it has astonishingly good build quality. At least thus far. Will report on whether or not it turns my wrist green. It has *heft* - definitely not just a plastic shell. The negative display is regrettable but manageable. But *weirdly* - and maybe this is a Skmei thing, dunno, this is my first one - this is the very first digital watch I've ever seen that *doesn't hack* - that is, you can't set the seconds!!

Oddly for Skmei afaict this is not a rip-off of any specific watch, like a Casio or whatever. If this was LED, it would fit right in with, like, a 1970s Pulsar or something. As it is it really does have cool beans futuro 1970s vibes. If it hacked and had a countdown timer it would be pretty much fully terrific.
Oh yeah it's solar and the backlight is pretty okay? Damn, Skmei. I wasn't expecting too much but good job.

@adr I hate to tell you but it IS a direct rip off of another watch

A little bit better photo.
Oh, had to show you the display in action and how the seconds sort of flip! Neato!
@adr The flip animation would be highly distracting to me but is very cool.

@adr if it's at all openable, flip the filter on the front LCD and you have an un-reversed display.

Us cool kids were doing this with our Commodore LCD watches in the late 1970s
