To any men asking "what about international men's day?", that's the 19th of November, which you'd already know if you actually cared about that.
To those who tried to liken this to humble kids looking on with envy at a rich kid's party or similar stuff, grats, you're the intended recipient of the toot.
I did learn from a response to someone going "what about" that there's an International Non-Binary People's Day on the 14th of July.
Next big day for gender stuff I think is the 31st of March, in which Transgender people take a penalty to vision-based stealth rolls.
@MachineLordZero
Like many other special shopping days the exact date is regional and often a movable feast. Mother's day in US, Italy, Belgium, and some other is a movable feast on "second Sunday of May" Norway celebrates it the second Sunday of February, Russia is "the last Sunday of November". Poland has fixed date of May, 26th.
@MachineLordZero I do know what day it is on. The question is why should we greet women if they don't greet us. Shouldn't we strive for equality?
@aka_dude @MachineLordZero Many women don't "greet" men because our society has a history of men being violent against women. Many women have a personal history of violence at the hands of men. So if a woman doesn't seem pleasant as you walk by, it's unreasonable to think "oh, she should smile more."
@Jumpmed quite a lot of women are friends with me. Their possible personal history with violence, if exists, or global history of patriarchy, does not seem to hinder our relationship. They congratulate (is this the correct word?) me with my birthday and new year, invite me on their birthdays and so on. They react well to congrats with March 8th. Yet, none of them congratulate me on November 19th. I don't think this is in any way connected to violence or oppression. It seems to me that there is simply no tradition to celebrate 19.11 like it is with 8.03. At least in our parts of the world (Eastern Europe).

@MachineLordZero

And all the other 364 days of the year and with all those days to do it right, we're effing it up---badly.

@MachineLordZero Celebration days are like celebrated heroes: if you need them something is going astray.

@MachineLordZero I'm not sure I've met an international woman, or an international man.

@llanciawn with the power of internet, anyone can be international

@MachineLordZero

@MachineLordZero I always thought men got the other 364 days
@MachineLordZero it's not about a day. When rich kids celebrate their birthdays lavishly, even kids from humble family sees it and wishes to have a day to be celebrated in their names. It is as simple as that.
