@saltywizard The doorstep is deeper on the right than on the left. The doorstep is a trapezium (trapezoid), like another I saw elsewhere. Not sure why.

Also, the entrance is on a slope (higher on the left than the right, but not visible).

i want to do this to my doorstep. i believe i have the skill to do a good job, but it's a large porch and the scale of the project in intimidating.
