Having conquered Victoria's highest mountain, today I am walking up Mt Feathertop, the second highest. I've got a full pack this time as I'll camp up at Federation Hut. Because the Victorian Alps are now apparently in the tropics, the humidity is 96% and the sweat is running before I've even started.

Campsite has been reached and tent pitched. Will head up to the summit later.

Summit reached last night, photos to follow. Here's the early morning light on the Razorback ridge. 3 hours back down to the car.

Having walked down the mountain, I then drove up another one, for lunch at Mt Hotham.

Having a well-earned rest in Omeo, and even managed a load of washing. On to Corryong then around the Alpine Way to Thredbo tomorrow for some excitement.

Here's some pics from the summit of Feathertop last night.

I survived the 65km of dirt on the Benambra-Corryong Road. Crossing the border and into Kosciuszko National Park next.

I stopped for lunch at Scammell's Spur, which has a spectacular view of the main range. Then on to Thredbo to have a go on their Alpine Coaster, which was somewhere between quite fun and slightly terrifying.

Today is not a day for walking, so my walk up to Blue Lake and Carruthers Peak will be attempted tomorrow, when the forecast is good. I'll go and swim some laps at the Jindabyne pool and watch a movie instead.

Unfortunately, this was not for sale.

After sitting out yesterday's rain, we have some perfect walking weather. A crisp 7 degrees to start. I'm heading up to Blue Lake and Carruthers Peak.

All done. A quick lunch at Charlotte Pass then home to the bush capital.
