honestly mew and bulbasaur are the only reasons holding me back from the belief kanto shouldn't have existed

funnily enough i don’t think i have a favorite! i love the absurdity/glitchiness/jank of gen 1 and gen 2. gen 3 has a special place in my heart. pretty much grew up with pokemon and have always love artsy stuff. gen 3 was a new gen for me, but i loved how much more beautiful the graphics were suddenly, and then emerald getting the animations, plus i adored torchic and mudkip. wasn’t a gen 4 fan when it came out but im okay with it now, also adore a lot about hg/ss. not a huge fan of gen 5 in terms of the game but i did like the game design and i loooooved the constant animations. i love pixels and ive never been a huge fan of 3d so i wish they’d make more 2d stuff. i do like colosseum tho. still need to finish XD: gale of darkness
after that it’s okay… i haven’t played sun and moon yet. i did play sword/shield and i’ve played a bit of scarlet/violet. i do like them. let’s go is okay. legends arceus is fun. don’t have z-a yet

gen1 is imo the worst gen ever, partially because it just Aged and partially because it's just lacking in design and despite getting so many rereleases it's still lacking
i have a sweet spot for gen2 (and the hgss remakes in gen4), it's underappreciated and i wish it got more spotlight besides just being latched on with kanto like that
gen4 and gen5 are examples of how an ok (or even good in case of the latter) game can be ruined by the fanbase, everyone acts like they suddenly love gen5 and memoryholed how everyone dogged on it
gen6 and 7 were the perfect time to be a pokemon fan, and contrary to a popular opinion these are some of the best game in the series. nothing so far has beat these gens but i hope winds/waves will be the first one to do so
