Robyn came into the workroom today so that I could get more practice with the Palmer/Pletsch tissue fitting method. In about 2 hours, we were able to go from a single measurement to a pattern tuned at least as well as a second muslin. This method continues to blow my mind with its effectiveness. #sewing #patternmaking
@elfkin ah the frankenpattern. Like a frankfurter nobody really wants to see all the horrible math, glue, and extra paper that goes into a delicious garment ๐Ÿ˜‚

@elfkin I've done that method.

I've found I can't really use it on myself so I more or less stopped. But these days I am focusing working from a sloper, as I am so over full bust adjustments.

It is interesting how different the fit process is without the bias doing its thing. Much easier to diagnose the fit in paper. The armscye fit is much less nerve wracking for me.

@elfkin following you as you learn this method has shown a light on my own process. That class marks a transition in my skills. I think you will find it very helpful for your business. Thank you for sharing your process!

@kamikat How I wish that we lived closer to each other so that we could bond over this! One gets to a usable pattern at warp speed compared to traditional methods.

And the systematized process really gets you thinking about the dynamics of fitting in a different, and very illuminating!, way.
