A new systematic review found that resistance exercise depletes skeletal muscle glycogen by about 104 units per session. Each additional set adds ~11 units, and every extra minute adds ~1.3 units. Surprisingly, heavier lifts use slightly less glycogen (-2.88 units per 1% increase).
