It's #SciFiSaturday! Lots of #StarTrek for me this week with #StarTrekStarfleetAcademy and catching some #TOS, #TNG, #DS9, and #VOY on H&I. Also an episode or two of #TheOuterLimits and #TheTwilightZone. How about you? #StarfleetAcademy #nerdlyfe

@TheNerdyBlogger

Sounds like a great plan.

In addition to ***Star Trek***, especially the new Starfleet Academy episode, I’ve been watching *Monarch: Legacy of Monsters* and catching up on some of the Legendary Pictures ***Monsterverse*** movies that I hadn’t seen.

As well, I watched *Buckaroo Banzii in the 8th Dimension* with one of our soon to be adult kids. We’re sorting out what to binge through together next having recently completed a rewatch of ***The Ark’s*** two seasons to date.

@AlsoPaisleyCat NICE! I need to give Monarch a try. I’ve heard good things!

@TheNerdyBlogger

The television streaming format enables much more in the way of character development than the kaiju movies.

You can jump right in with ***Monarch: Legacy of Monsters*** season one and then double back to the movies in the same continuity if you’re interested. I’d lost track of the franchise decades ago, but found it this show an interesting entry point to get back in.

@TheNerdyBlogger just some SNW. And some TOS fanzine reading.
@switch Sweet! Which fanzine?
@TheNerdyBlogger Spockanalia 2 ! :) (and also Star Trek Quarterly Winter 2020)
@switch Nice! I need to catch up with the world of Star Trek periodicals.
@TheNerdyBlogger Spockanalia is a 5-issue run that happened at the time of the first broadcast of TOS. It's written from a in-universe perspective and I love it. ST Quarterly was the project of one of Women at Warp hosts. It's really nice too. And archive.org has hundreds of issues of old ST fanzines. It's a dilithium mine really.
