A Postdoctoral Research Associate position (Natural Hydrogen) is available at the University of Edinburgh, School of Geosciences, contributing to the Horizon Europe H2-QUEST project.

The role will support experimental research on hydrogen source rocks, using high-pressure, high-temperature batch reactors and in-situ microsensors to quantify hydrogen generation and release under subsurface conditions. The work includes analysing experimental datasets and integrating results with thermodynamic and kinetic geochemical modelling.

Applicants should hold (or have submitted) a PhD in geochemistry, geoenergy, chemistry, chemical engineering, or a closely related discipline, with experience in experimental geochemistry and quantitative data analysis.

Full-time, fixed term (16 months), based in Edinburgh.
