Why is Bomber still giving this scammer a platform in 2026?

Suzie Dawson has been collecting money from people and promising a groundbreaking social network for years now, and all Panquake has presented publicly is a social media dashboard, and a link shortener (in 2026 this is obsolete, as well as being a common tool of scammers). Both of these could have been built in an afternoon using unmodified code found on GritHub.

In the time that Dawson has been crowdfunding for Panquake and making unfulfilled promises, 3 new social networks have been built, mostly by unpaid volunteers, using ActivityPub, ATProto and Nostr. With dozens of apps now available (see fediverse.party for AP example). For those keen on P2P and willing to use bleeding edge apps, there's also Scuttlebutt, Keet, Moss, and so on.

So even if Panquake was real (again, it's *not*, it's a scam), it would be reinventing the wheel at this point.

Encouraging people to pay attention to Dawson or Panquakes is highly irresponsible, and makes Bomber an accomplice in her scams. Please, just stop.

I posted this text as a comment on the blog piece linked in the first post. It's currently in the moderation queue. Let's check back in a couple of days and see just how fervently Bomber really does believe in freedom of expression and democratic debate.
