#C13Cl2 is first experimental observation of what scientists call a half-Mobius electronic topology in a single molecule. Two chlorine atoms impart a twist that allows it to form half-Möbius geometry. To researchers' knowledge, nothing like it has ever been synthesized, observed, or even formally predicted. And proving why it behaves this way required something extraordinary, quantum computer.
