Can this be repeated here with our Greens? Or are we years behind?
leah & flutters & nose, oh my! (@[email protected])
Labour are facing a wipeout in London if they don't swerve left fast, says... everyone in Labour who hasn't lashed themselves to Starmer's mast, apparently. and the pollsters who called Gorton & Denton. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2026/mar/06/labour-urged-listen-progressive-voters-or-face-political-earthquake-london there's no way the government as a whole can square a sharp left turn with Mahmood's sharp right turn without hanging her out to dry. and while they absolutely should, and i'm positive Starmer would do so in two seconds if he thought it would buy him an extra day in no.10 (look how completely he's let her own this so far! even though he *must* have signed off on it, at least in principle; that can only be so that he can scapegoat her if it doesn't fly), the fact that she got to air it at all has probably pre-emptively sunk him. i mean, as fun as it's going to be to watch the car crash unfold on that Thursday night in May - especially if the Greens massively outperform not just Labour, but Reform as well, and *especially* if that means that they're predicted to be the largest party in Parliament shortly thereafter - this ongoing slow motion train wreck is no good for the country, which needed a functioning government that would reset things after the Tories so egregiously fucked them up, and got... \**waves hands around*\* this.
