How to use the camera flash as notification LED in Phosh

PeerTube
@phosh I kind of wish that this was also implemented as an on-screen thing for AMOLED devices :D
@k That would be nice, if someone wants to help see https://gitlab.gnome.org/World/Phosh/phosh/-/issues/1308 and join us at https://matrix.to/#/#phosh-dev:phosh.mobi to discuss any details.

@phosh that is if you wish to annoy everyone around you in public
@phosh ... and here I am, having blacklisted the kernel module of my phones notification LED to have more peace of mind ;-)
@phosh Great to see agility in controlling more hardware. Is there a documentation on the software stack of all the components? Divine D. will feature several user and system notification LEDs. The user will benefit from easily assigning custom event notification to specific LEDs at the UI level.
@dawndrums https://dev.phosh.mobi/docs/development/stack/ is pretty terse and doesn't list everything but by following the links you should get an overview. https://phosh.mobi/posts/ should be able to fill in some other gaps regarding e.g. #cellbroadcast or emergency calls.
Software Stack

Software Stack# The Phosh software is grouped into different categories. See this blog post for more details. The release notes list the components according to this categorization. Core Components# These build up the mobile shell itself. This includes the phone shell itself, the Wayland compositor phoc as well as the on screen keyboard stevia. Recommended Components# Recommended components are needed to make the session feel “Phosh like” and to make it mobile friendly. An example is the tour or the mobile settings app.

@phosh Nice feature, but is there an option to flash with lower brightness? My eyes did hurt a bit after trying this out … 😅
@FestplattenSchnitzel Sure, you can tweak that via the device theme, see what we did for the OP6 and Pixel 3A: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/feedbackd/feedbackd-device-themes/-/merge_requests/45
sargo: Limit status LED color (!45) · Merge requests · feedbackd / feedbackd-device-themes · GitLab

The Pixel 3A doesn't have a status led so let's reduce the flash brightness in case people use that instead. 40% was suggested by a-way. Signed-off-by:...

@phosh would it be possible to simulate the notification led on an oled screen by flashing a dot..?
